"Safer operations through autonomy" is the focus for this year's conference on Autonomy in Integrated Operations where a member of the Gemini Centre for Advanced Robotics is part of the program committee. The conference will be held in Stavanger, Norway on 9 - 10 March 2011.
The conference will encompass a status section together with three technical sessions. The Status Sections will include status on NASA/JPL collaboration, the JPL-Seabed Rig Collaboration Project, followed by an overview of current and planned development work in automation/autonomy by representatives from the authorities, the oil and gas companies, and the research community.
The three technical sections are:
(1) Drilling Systems (e.g. pipe handling, control fluids, drilling control, and geosteering)
(2) Subsea systems (e.g. production systems, well intervention, inspection, maintenance, and repair)
(3) Top-side systems (e.g. rig brake system, and doping and cleaning of tubing)
